E/SE of Fix Tank and ca. 0.15 mi. of the Trans Lines powerlines. Growing on the top of a sandstone escarpment, in fine-textured red soil derived from eroded sandstone. UTM zone: 12, 408361E 3936159N Elev: ca. 6325 ft. Associated species: Pinus edulis, Juniperus monosperma, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Bouteloua gracilis, Chaetopappa ericoides, Hilaria jamesii. K.
