2<M Ws PLANTS OF CALIFORNIA, USA Collinsia heterophvlla Buist Scrophulariaceae Det.: S. R. Hill, (ILLS) 2001 Chinese houses. SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY 34° 02.676’ N. Lat. 117° 06.900’ W. Long. Redlands, Sand Canyon Road, east side. Near Crafton Hills College. Elevation about 2075 feet. Disturbed rocky clay, south-facing slopes, full sun. Very degraded chaparral, cleared and pastured; numerous exotic grasses with remnants of native vegetation. Generally with Bromus spp., Eriogonum fasciculatum, Artemisia califomica, Phacelia. Flowers showy, lower lip rose-purple (dark magenta), upper lip white to pink with rose-purple base and spots, stamens salmon orange; locally common annual herb on slopes in colonies. Steven R.
