N of Pinedale, center of T39N, R109W, W of Gyps on Creek and USES Rd. 102. Elev. 9500 ft. in subalpine park on S side of Mtn., shade of old growth spruce, site nearly level, rich loam with large rocks, ca. 50% vegetative cover, the dominants: Geranium viscossimum, Agropyron pseudorepens, Bromus, Helenium hoopesii, Thalictrum occidentale, Epilobium angustifolium, Lupinus argenteus; also with Poa nervosa, P. pratensis. Bracts and calyces bright red at tips; galea green, with red flanges? lower lip green. Distribution: NY 03260797
