long. Abundant caespitose per herb on mossy
rocks and narrow ledges especially on the
steep (nearly 170%) NE facing side of knob.
With Arenaria capillaris, Penstemon attenuatus
Cheilanthes gracillima, Cryptogramma crispa
Juniperus communis, Saxifraga ferruginea, and
Luzula campestris. Infl. glandular; lvs green
-ish, broad and w/ 2 well-dev lat lobes (occ
the central lobe dissected irreg); bracts
pale greenish-yellow below, the upper ^ lined
w/ pale reddish-purple (younger brcts deeper
reddish-purple and w/ pale yellow-cream tips)
calyx cleft nearly sub=, a bit deeper on the
abaxial, each seg ending in two broadly round
-ed teeth, the entire calyx only 2-4 mm short
-er than the corolla; corolla transp below,
yellowish-green on the distal, the upper lip
surpassing the lower by only 3 mm at most in
fresh condition.
