    Dry thorn scrub, with abundant Aacia furcatispina and Cnidosculus; between sharp-edged limestone blocks.

  • Description

    to 40 cm tall, branching near base or solitary, with 7-9 ribs. Flesh very dry and not at all mucilaginous. Some plants attacked by borers. Flowering before rains; floral remains dark magenta.

Notes: conservation status (IUCN) probably VU D2; sympatric with E.
bridgesii subsp. vallegrandensis.
