MOUNTAIN SCARLET PAINTBRUSH. Erect perennials, resem-
bling C. kaibabensis in having galeas 10-11 mm long
and bracts often entire or shallowly lobed.
In the saddle on east rim of the northern meadow, 1.3 mile S 10° W of Schultz Tank, T22N R7E S27. Open dacitic
soil in montane grassland with Festuca, Astragalus.
Koeleria, Muhlenbergia, and Lupinus. Locally common.
