  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to center of the bridge taking road BR-101 over the Rio Mucurí, in Mun. Mucurí, Bahia. Using Google Maps - Terrain View, located the Rio Mucurí, road BR-101, and the place where they intersect. Using Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs, found coordinates the approximate geographic center of the bridge crossing the river. Using Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps), found the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of BR-101 within the river valley basin. Input coordinates, linear extent (1422.93 m), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Junction, Intersection, Crossing).
