Agua Tibia Mtn., E of the Dripping Springs Alcove Area, along
the Dripping Springs Trail. 33°26'45"N-116°58'32"W; T8S R1W;
SW 1/4 SW 1/4, sec. 27; Elev. 2560'. Steep chaparral covered
slopes of Adenostoma fasciculatum, Ceanothus crassifolius,
Galium angustifolium, Hazardia squarrosa var. grindelioides,
Cryptantha sp., etc. Granitic substrate with decomposed granitic
soil; Aspect NNW; slope 70%. Common suffrutescent perennial,
18 "-24" tall. Flowers red with orange/red floral bracts
