Ada Hayden Herbarium Iowa State University Plants of Iowa Besseya bullii (Eaton) Rydb. Bremer Co.: Polk Township T93N R14W Sec 8 NE4 NW4 NW4 and NW4 NE4 NW4 Site is located approximately 3 miles NNE of Plainfield and 0.1 mile E of the Cedar River. Jackson Cemetery, a small (less than 0.5 acre) cemetery on the S side of a gravel road and surrounded on 3 sides by woods. Cemetery is mowed, so much of it is disturbed. Cemetery is dominated by several large red cedars, Juniperus virginiana. Soil here is Chelsea sand, 0-5% slopes (ChB), an Alfic Udipsamment. Cemetery is on the Iowan Surface. 1000+ genets, many of them with multiple inflorescences and infructescences. Flowers were light yellow in color. Genets were scattered throughout most of the cemetery, but were densest in the center. With Achillea millefolium, Carex pensylvanica, Draba reptans, Poa pratensis and Taraxacum officinale. Mark J.
