The New York Botanical Garden
Tiquilia gossypma (Wooton & Standi.) A. T. Richardson
det. M. Nee, 2011
Wright 1557 is the Type number of Eddya hispidissima Torr.
& A. Gray [=flpsifa hispidissima (Torr. & A. Gray) A. T.
Richardson].
Richardson (197H 517, 519) states that Wright 1557 is a mixed
collection, and he lectotypifies Eddya hispiddisima on one
element: (Jti| iiolectotype GH.
See: Richardson, A. T. 1977 Monograph of the genus Tiquilia
(Coldenia sensu lato), Boraginaceae: Ehretioideae, Rhodora
79: 467-572.
The other elements of Wright 7557 are T. gossypina, which
this NY sheet seems to be.
This NY sheet contains two collections. The arrows were made
long ago by an unknown person. If all these suppositions are
correct, none of the material on this sheet is a type of Eddya
hispidissima.
