Plant of the forest floor in shade about 1 m. tall; corolla yellowish-green. Open flower with a sharp odor like skunk-cabbage (Symplocarpus)• High montane oak forest with trees 8-20 m. tall on slopes and ridges, along the trail from Canaán to Chirripó via Los Angeles, above (north of) the Rio Talari at 3100-3200 m. altitude.
