CHIRIQUI: wet mossy forest but
rather cut-over at an elevation
of about 7500 ft. on the north-
west side of the mountain of
Cerro Punta beyond Las Nubes.
Herb succulent to base about 1 m
long. Calyx-lobes spreading to
reflexed at anthesis, toothed and
purple to green in color. Corolla
basically green and dark purple.
Filament-tube and anther-tube
green. Fruit barrel-shaped,
greatly inflated? the body green,
about 3 cm in diameter and 5 cm
long. (Flower color varies,
sometimes almost completely green
and at other times mostly dark
purple.)
