Boraginaceae Plagiobothrys arizonicus (A.Giay) A.Gray MOJAVE DESERT: Black Butte Basin Road at its intersection with Avenue TJ\ NW comer; 0.85 mile and ca 152° SW of Three Sisters [buttes]. El Mirage USGS 7.5' Quadrangle; T5N R8W, SE/4 SE/4 SW/4 section 9. Elevation ca 3145-3150 feet. Open desert flat (apparently cleared at some time in the past) with Atriplex canescens and mostly herbaceous associates; surrounding area dominated by Larrea tridentata with scattered Yucca brevifolia. Locally abundant annual; corolla ± 2 mm broad; calyx circumsdssile; nutlets up to 3 per calyx. Timothy S. Ross 4681 27 April 1991 03247835
