Open 40% NE-facing slope, loamy brown
soil, 10% exposed rock, 40% barren ground,
just above timberline. With Senecio^
Achillea, Deschampsia, Antennaria,
Cirsium, Carex, Mertensia, Lonicera,
Salix.
Corolla blue; on older flowers tube of
corolla violet.
