Stout colorful annual herb or biennial, uncommon as patchy waif occurrence, locally limited to washes or along roadsides. Pis generally with strongly pinnate leaves, early whithering rosettes. Associated Species: CreOSOte Bush Scrub Larrea tridentata, Ambrosia dumosa, Hymenoclea salsola, Psorothamnus fremontii, Ephedra califomica Cylindropuntia echinocarpa, C. ramosissima, Bromus spp., Schismus, Erodium cicutarium, Guillenia lasiophylla, Amsinckia tessellata and Camissonia clavifbrmis.
