Brushy strips between fields (abandoned
ca. 1983), originally subtropical semi-
deciduous forest, flat, fine sandy soil.
Tecoma stans, Solanum riparium, Guazuma
ulmifolia, early second-growth species.
Young tree 4 m. tall, 10 cm. diam. ; stem with
broad-based conical spines; large trees here are
now in flower, with huge golden petals, and young^
fruit. This tree with green flowers buds, the
petals golden-pilose; stamens orange.
