José-Puntarenas Province border, ca. 10 km E of Dominical. Just N of
Fila Alivio in upper Río Barucito basin, a southern tributary of Rio
Barn.
Shrub, 2.5 m with arching branches; fruits dull red turning purple-
black. Tall evergreen secondary forest mixed with primary forest
remnants, along road cut.
