Wahiawa Mts., Uhue-Koloa Forest Reserve, below Kapalaoa Peak,
off a spur in the middle of the basin forming a bowl with the
Hanapepe dividing ridge to the SW. Montane Wet Metnosideros-
Cheirodendron-Dicranopteris Forest. W/ Broussaisia aiguta,
Cyrtandra oneobara, C. pickeringii, Hedyotis terminalis, Ilex
anomola, Melicope, Dubautia, Pipturus ruber, Diplopterygium
pinnatum, Antidesma, Psychotria mariniana, Platydesma s
8 ft. tree. Rounded canopy. Young fruit brown woolly, older glab
w/ dk brn in crevasses. Exocarp thick, seeds red-bm filling the
capsule. Sap white. Lvs rugose, dark green above, below med
green w/ brown hairs.
