miles west of Glamis (measured from railroad
crossing), Algodones Dunes. Elevation about 302 feet.
Pale brown high wind-deposited sand dunes, deep
deposits, granitic sand, separated by lower level
washes.
Sonoran desert. Sparse desert - dune vegetation,
dominated by Cercidiumfloridum, Larrea tridentata,
Oenothera deltoides, spring herb layer; lower dunes and
level areas of wash with Lepidium and Oenothera.
Very common erect taprooted tufted annual herb with
white flowers; taproot with purplish dye.
