PLANTS OF CALIFORNIA, USA Crvptantha micrantha (Torr.) I.M.Johnst. Boraginaceae Det.: S. R. Hill, (ILLS) 2001 IMPERIAL COUNTY 32° 59.757’ N. Lat. 115° 5.997’ W. Long. North side of California Route 78, 1.7 miles west of Glamis (measured from railroad crossing), Algodones Dunes. Elevation about 302 feet. Pale brown high wind-deposited sand dunes, deep deposits, granitic sand, separated by lower level washes. Sonoran desert. Sparse desert - dune vegetation, dominated by Cercidiumfloridum, Larrea tridentata, Oenothera deltoides, spring herb layer; lower dunes and level areas of wash with Lepidium and Oenothera. Very common erect taprooted tufted annual herb with white flowers; taproot with purplish dye. Steven R. Hill 33511 Kate Kramer 27 April 2001 03223390
