Flora of San Diego County, California, USA BORAGINACEAE i Cryptantha intermedia (A. Gray) E. Greene Palomar Mountains, summit of Aguanga Mountain along Palomar Divide Road (9S07) ca. 2.6 miles east of junction with Halfway Road (9S06). Near 33°19’45”N, 116°45’40”W. T10SR2ES1/2 SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec. 3; N 1/2 NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec. 10. Elev. 4550 - 4680 ft. Recently burned steep northerly slopes and more gentle ridgetop in area of granitic substrate, adjacent to extensive area of gabbro on north flank of ridge, east of Halfway Road. Area formerly supporting chaparral of Adenostoma sparsifolium, A. fasciculatum, Ceanothus greggii var. perplexans. Abundant fire-following wildflowers including Cryptantha intermedia, C. muricata, Phacelia brachyloba, P. distans, Chaenactis artemisiifolia, Gilia caruifolia, Argemone munita, Emmenanthe penduliflora, Erigeron foliosus, Dichelostemma, etc. Common annual with white flowers.
