Close to the road running north and east
from Teotepique towards San Salvador
about 51™ north of the village of
Teotepique in coastal hills about 20km
inland from the Pacific coast.
Medium-sized tree to 20m ht.; dbh 75cm*
Large spreading crown.
Bark smooth mid grey brown, inner bark
deep salmon pink.
Foliage discolourous, deep glossy green
above, paler below.
Flowers breaking up leaving a persistent
calyx and developing ovaries, petals
cream-white.
Frequent,scattered in highly disturbed
semi-evergreen forest over coffee with
Cassia grandis, Trema and Gliricidia.
