semi-deciduous forest with many lianas.
Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of
1500mm/y rain.
Small tree, 22m tall. Sinewy, cooked bole
with many offshoots. Very hard, orange wood.
Bark brittle, smooth, gray, with eyemarks.
Slash yellow, with pungent smell and sweet
taste. Compound, leaf; 1-4 pairs of opposite
leaflets. Blade has simple hairs and tiny
glands. Rachis winged.
