miles y of Ibb, near Acama, SW slopes, in
area that was once Acacia, Ficus, Cordia,
arborescent Euphorbia, now mostly terraced
with Sorghum, grazed field edges;
mountaionous; elev. ca. 2000 m.
Flowers cream; fruits reddish; scrambling
over rocks in a bush like growth to 2 m tall,
4 m across, with its cat-claws forming an
impenetrable barrier; common in canyons where
protected, often just above the uppermost
terraces. Visited by bees and wasps.
Affords protection to other forbs.
