    Virgin old-growth forest dominated by hardwoods in climax state (primarily Liriodendron and Fagus, with Acer saccharum, Carya, Ilex, Magnolia macrophylla, Oxydendrum, Quercus rubra) and numerous old growth hemlock (Tsuga, recruiting) in narrow N-S canyon with extensive sandstone walls and falls. on Fagus.
