60°47'4"W. Ochnaceae, Dimorphandra, Bonnetiaceae dominant trees;
Xyridaceae, Eriocaulaceae, and Melastomataceae dominant in
understory. Shrub to 2m. Stems rusty brown. Leaves green above, light
green below, with yellow venation. Leaf bases connected to opposite
leaves. Entire plant covered in viscid (sticky) trichomes.
Inflor/infructescence terminal panicles. Rachis same as stem. Calyx
green, corolla light purple. Fruit a green capsule. Silica sample.
