Bot. 44(6): 537-544; 545-554. 1957, Herbarium of thb University of California Plants of California Amsinckia Douglasiana A. DC. Annual with erect and spreading branches, stout, 3-6 dm. high; flowers heterostylic; corollas variable in size, ca. 13 mm. broad, orange-yellow with red markings. Several (6-10) dense colonies on steep north canyon side, about 100 feet above canyon floor. Altitude 1100 feet.
