Romanzoffia tracyi Jeps.
SEAL ROCK STATE PARK, LINCOLN COUNTY: sandy, rocky
ground and rock crevices, largest (central) rock, ap-
parently on all faces near the top, but most common on
the W and N faces, particularly near the summit, one
of the dominant species; plants solitary or in isolated
clumps on rocky areas or forming mats of various shapes
up to perhaps 2000 cm^ area, these stands mostly pure,
among grasses, Plantago martima, Armeria maritima, Erig-
eron glaucus & Spergularia macrotheca. Elev. ca. 1*0 -
10$', at least the lowest plants exposed to salt spray.
Population largely dormant, the few plants still
green evidently relatively protected, these the
solitary plants or clumps (up to 1$ cm across &
2 - 8 cm tall); plants viscid-villous, leaves suc-
culent .
