Sec. 26 NW‘/4 SE 1/16: SE part; elev. 3975-4080'; 2 ± separate "populations" of the 13 ("sub-
populations") seen by Alice Smith on 6-11-91, one adjacent to road and one ca. 60-100' above
road; thin soil or moss on rock outcrops or among rocks-not seen in deeper (4"+) soil; ± SSW
facing banks and slopes, open area of old clearcut, not occuring near or under tree or shrub cov-
er, slope 0-45°; wet ground; sporadically, without much aggregation. Leaves succulent; corollas
white, with a gold band in tube/throat (top of gold band ~ top of calyx) and 5 gold spots in upper
throat alternating with and overlapping the lobe bases. PHOTOS.
Associates: Mimulus guttatus, Montia parvifolia, Gilia capitata, Castilleja hispida, Collinsia
parviflora, Trifolium cyathiferum (4483), Eriophyllum lanatum, Saxifraga integrifolia, Rubus
ursinus, Ceanothus velutinus, Holodiscus discolor, Cryptogrmma crispa var. achrostichoides,
Woodsia sp.,Acer circinatum, Achillea millefolium, Prunella vulgaris. Madia cf. exigua (4484),
Mimulus moschatus and perhaps M. breweri (frequent nearby but assoc, not confirmed); nearby:
Pseudotsuga menziesii and Alnus.
Includes material in packets from VMs garden through 8-19-93.
