BASTROP CO: In subdivision to the W of SR304
along CR272, ca. 1.5 mi N of FM535; upper
drainage of Piney Creek; Pinus taeda-dominat-
ed woodland; in open area at base of sand-
stone bluff by road in loose, white sandy
soil. Liatris elegans v. carrizana, Croton
glandulosus, Hymenopappus carrizoanus.
Widely varying phyllary color from dark blue-
purple to light lavender; roots sub globose to
elongated and fusiform.
