SA n\ ECUADOR GESNERIACEAE [262] Shuaria ecuadorica D.A. Neill &J.L. Clark Zamora-Chinchipe: El Pangui Canton Cordillera del Condor, western slopes. Upper Rio Wawaime watershed, tributary of Rio Quimi. Tall forest on ridge, with mixed sand/clay soil, above "Wawaime Plot", 1-hectare forest inventory plot on same ridge. EcuaCorriente copper mine concession. 03°34'27"S 078°26'40"W 1230 m Small tree 4 m tall, in shaded forest understory, with multiple trunks and often with sucker sprouts at base. Corolla ivory-white, slightly gibbous at base. Young fruits green. Growing as a small "copse" in forest understory with 6 trees of this species in a 10 m X 10 m area. 1 May 2008 David Neill, 0.
