PLANTS OF CALIFORNIA DISTRIBUTED BY THE HERBARIUM OP THE UNIVERSITY OP CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY. 150. Phacelia brachyloba (Benth.) Gray. Syn. Eutoca brachyloba Benth. Phacelia Orcuttiana Gray. Phacelia leucantha Lemmon, in Greene. Ref. A. Gray, Syn. FI. ii. 1, 417 (1886). K. Brandegee, Zoe iv. 95 (1893). Parish, Eryth. vi. 90 (1898). Hall, Univ. Calif. Pub. Bot. i. 107 (1902). Southern base of the San Bernardino Mts., at an altitude of 460 m. Plants 1 to 6 dm. high, often much branched. Corolla light to dark mauve, with yellow throat. These and other Southern California plants differ from the original description in color of flower and in the uniform absence of corolla-scales and may therefore be distinct from the Monterey form.
