Caprifoliaceae Lonicera maackii (Rupr.) Maxim, det. M. Nee, 2016 WISCONSIN, Richland Co., 4 km. NE of Gotham, Moss Hollow Lake, an artificial spring-fed lake surrounded by woods on the slopes. 43°14’57”N, 90°15’22”W. alt. 285 m. T 9 N; R 2 E; NEVSNEJ4 sect. 21. Shrub, common in understory of medium-aged woods of Carya cordiformis, on SE-facing slope above the lake, with Lonicera cf. x bella, Zanthoxylum americanum, Berberis thunbergii. Shrub 4 m. tall, with two somewhat leaning stems, about as large as seen here, this stem 8 cm. in diameter, 15 years old. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw.
