km. NE of junction with Hwy. 182.

Forest of Pinus resinosa and some Acer rubrum, on gentle
slopes, with Corylus cornuta, Cornus alternifolia, Rubus
parviflorus in the understory.
Erect shrublets, usually unbranched, or with 1-3 branches,
stems to 0.5 cm. in diameter; pith light tan, occupying most
of the stem. Voucher for wood specimens in Kw, Lw,
MADw, RSAw. Leafy twigs and fruit on growth of second
year.
