Steep SE-facing slope of narrow valley, woods of Quercus
alba, TIlia americana, Celtis occidentalis, Acer rubrum,
Staphylea trifolia, with Podophyllum peltatum,
Zanthoxylum americanum.
Shrub 4 m. tall, 5 cm. in diameter, perhaps the maximum
size it reaches in this woods, with a major stem and much
smaller replacement stems from base. Voucher for wood
specimen, MADw. Fruit yellow-green, hanging.
