Wisconsin River valley.

Edge of young woods of Populus grandidentata,
Zanthoxylum americanum, Prunus americana, Ulmus
americana, U. rubra, Fraxinus americana at edge of old
agricultural fields now being burned and established as
prairie.
Small tree 10 cm. in diameter. Abundant light yellow-green
fruit, but this tree without red spot over seed swelling (see
Nee 62099).
