negundo, Ulmus americana. Soil sandy.
Poorly formed tree growing at edge of opening and taller
trees, with leaning trunks. Voucher for wood specimen,
MADw, from a ± erect portion of a trunk, 21 cm. in
diameter. All stems from 10 cm. diameter upwards have red
staining in the center, and this often has a putrid odor.
Twigs glaucous. Fruits abundant, yellow-green.
