Fringe of trees and shrubs, Populus tremuloides, Picea
glauca, Pteridium aquilinum, Salix spp., Prunus
pensylvanica, Cornus alternifolia. Level, open areas
maintained in early stage of regeneration of Populus
tremuloides for sharp-tail grouse habitat, edge of extensive
Sphagnum bog.
Treelet 5 m. tall, 6 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood
specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Twigs
and petioles red. Fruit shiny, red.
