  • Collector(s)

  • Location

United States of America. Idaho. Fremont Co. Island Park Geothermal Study Area. Ashton Reservoir.

  • Habitat

Associated with Carex luzulina, Gentiana detonsa, and Mimulus guttatus; or with Alnus incana and Ribes aureum.

  • Description

The involucral bracts of this species are often somewhat graduated and sometimes approach the blunt condition of A. chilensis. Based on my collections, A. eatonii can also be distinguished by its dark-purple stems, its generally lavender (rather than blue) rays and its distinctive habitat.--[Notes by G. S. Whitehead.]. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
