"Dr. Kearney in the description of the type says, 'The single specimen which I have seen was collectd by Blodgett, at Key West, Florida. It is in the Torrey Herbarium.' As this is the only Blodgett Rhus in the Torrey Herbarium and it fits the description, it is probable that it represents the TYPE." in adnot. F. A. Barkley, 1937
