SE of Morro do Chapeu on the BA. 052 highway to Mundo Novo, with water-worn, horizontally bedded sandstone at surface, with damp sand, sedge marsh, exposed rocks & waterfall. Vegetation open scrub to closed low woodland in drier areas. Alt. ca. 900 m. U°02'W., 11 38'S. D6 This plant growing among rocks. Shrub to 1.5 m. Leaves very coriaceous, dark very glossy green above, grey beneath. Sepals pale grey-green. Petals greenish cream. Anthers pale. Fruit turning pale orange. 31 May 1980 R.M.
