    Found in evergreen forest in the ’Sacred Grove' of Mawphlang, which is a patch of protected forest at about 6000 ft. elevation. It is evergreen, and includes oaks, Rhododendron, Schima, Camellia, laurels, etc. Most of the Khasi plateau was once covered with this type of forest, until it was all destroyed to make charcoal for smelting iron.

    Flowers white with orange corona; scent rather unpleasant. A sprawling liana with milky juice.
