PALO PINTO CO.: in remnants of burned woodland on fairly steep NE-facing slope underlain by Pennsylvanian limestone below and Pennsylvania sandstone above, W side of valley ca. 3.7 airmiles W to WSW of jet. St. Rt. 16 and R. M. 2372 in Strawn, at N32931.258\ W098°32.180\ Palo Pinto Mountains State Park. Elev. 1200-1220 ft. Area burned during 2011 wildfire. Pre-fire shrubland probably dominated by Quercus sinuata and Juniperus ashei. Associates included Abutilon incanum, Acalypha sp., Andropogon gerardii, Aster ericoides, Bouteloua curtipendula, Celtis reticulata, Croton monanthogynus, Erigeron modestus, Galactia sp., Lespedeza virginica, Mentzelia oligosperma, Rhus copallina, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Smilax bona-nox, Solidago radula, Sporobolus compositus, Toxicodendron sp, Tragia ramosa, Wissadula holosericea, Yucca pallida. 03176565 W.
