unshaded, frequently scoured and reworked bed of nearly
perennial spring-fed stream, in Alamito Creek just N of R.
M. 169 bridge near Plata, 23.7 roadmiles S of jet. US Rt. 67,
at N29°52'55.1”, W104o01’14.7”. Kennedy Ranch (Dixon
Foundation). Plata NE Quadrangle. Elev. 3770-3780 ft.
Banks lined intermittently with Populus fremontii. Associates in gravel
included Astragalus austrinus, A. wootonii, Brickellia laciniata, Chilopsis
linearis, Chloracantha spinosa, Cynodon dactylon, Dyssodia pentachaeta,
Maurandya antirrhiniflora, Mentzelia sp., Mimosa sp., Nerisyrenia
camporum, Oligomeris linifolia, Physaria sp., Salix sp., Senecio Riddellii,
Xanthium strumarium.
