The New York Botanical Garden Plants of BOLIVIA Melastomataceae Desmocelis villosa (Aubl.) Naudin det. F. Michelangeli, 2008 Depto. Santa Cruz, Prov. Ichilo, along highway from Portachuelo to Buena Vista, 3.1 km E of La Arboleda. 17°24’02”S, 63°35’04”W. alt. 305 m. Grassy roadside ditch through mostly flat area, former woodland and savanna, with a large stand of Rhynchanthera grandiflora. Herbs. Petals pink-purple; V2 of stamens with bright yellow thecae, the others with pale yellow thecae. Coll.: M. Nee, F. Michelangeli, O. Colque I., R. Flores S., D. McClelland & S.
