SW of Wauzeka, near Adiantum Woods State Natural Area, ridgetop near N- facing Wisconsin River bluff. 43°03’39”N, 90°53’59”W. alt. 347 m. T 7 N; R 4 W; NWV4NWH sect. 30. Brushy old ridgetop field, somewhat prairie-like, becoming overgrown with Rhus glabra, rare Elaeagnus umbellata, Cornus racemosa. Common, the smaller ones invading old prairie/field, the larger ones to 2.5 m. tall along edge of young woods, 3.3 cm. in diameter, 18 years old; the older and larger plants are senescent. Sap milky. Voucher for wood specimens in Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw. Flowers yellow-green, lightly and pleasantly fragrant (1:00 P.M., sunny). Coll.: M. Nee 62999 18 June 2016 Missouri Botanical Garden (MO) 03176502
