  • Description

An epiphytic shrub. Flowers white with a yellow or greenish yellow flash at the base; anthers red-brown. Corollas first picked up at about 5000' altitude. Grows at the tops of the trees, right out of sight, so far. Bark red, thin and papery. (This may be the plant collected in Manipur in 1948.) May be R. dendricola. R. taronense, or R. notatum - if these are really different species. I have probaly collected it in the Delei valley (1928), and probably in the Tamai valley (1926, 1931). Good flowering specimen collected at 6000 ft. on 26.4.49. Corolla softly pubescent outside, not scaly; filaments hairy at the base; ovary closely lepidote, style with scattered scales for l/3 of its length. K. obsolete, stamens 10, of different lengths. Leaves rather closely lepidote beneath, the scales 2-3 diameters apart.
