"EPIPACTIS CANYON": Un-named canyon draining
ENE to Lone Pine Cany on and originating near the E end
of Upper Lytle Creek Ridge [Sheep Creek Truck Road,
2N56, drops NEward through the lower half of this
canyon]; Cajon 7.5' USGS topo sheet; T2N R6W, SW/4
NW/4 NE/4 section 10; elev. ca. 3380-3480 feet.
Riparian strip with scattered willows and "mesic
chaparral" species; Epipactis gigantea and Pycnan-
themum californicum locally abundant along stream;
adjacent slopes and flats largely supporting chaparral
elements; a few arborescent Quercus chrysolepis localized
on mesic lower slopes.
Glutinous-leaved rhizomatous shrubs to ca 10 dm;
corollas white; locally common.
