Steep rocky slopes; fairly open with mostly low tortured shrubs or subshrubs including Larrea tridentata, Hymenoclea salsola, Ericameria cooperi, Ephedra nevadensis, Lycium andersonii, Salazaria mexicana, Lepidium fremontii, etc. Annual, locally common northeasterly slopes; corollas cream-yellow.
