Long. T. 24N, R. 10E, SW1/4 [ and adjacent portion of
the NW 1/4 ], NW1/4 NE1/4 SECT. 33 North, northeast
and east-facing slopes and bottoms along the west side
of Illinois Route 2, along the main [southern] entrance
road to the Stronghold and Blackhawk Presbytery and
camp. Elevation about 692-738 feet. Sandy soil in
shade.
Mesic upland forest along intermittent stream terrace,
with Alliaria petiolata, Carex blanda, Celtis
occidentalis, Ellisia nyctelea, Geum canadense,
Juglans nigra, Quercus alba, Toxicodendron radicans,
Ulmus rubra, Vitis riparia. Locally common delicate
herb; stems with purple tint, flower very pale purple.
