Dear Dr. Drouet'
I have forwarded to	you a culture of
the organism I described in a orevious letter
as acid-liking (#16). I	will greatly appre-
ciate it if you can find	time to identify it.
The organism was sent to me by Dr. Mary
Belle Ai.iPn of the Hopkins Marine Station,
and described as reproducing by "nannocyte
formation within the mother cell". Frankly,
it sounds to me more like the formation of
endosoores (gonidia).
The organism grows well at a nH of
about 4 to 5.
Thanki ng you again for your generous
helo, I am,
Resoectfully yours,
2
